Use it anywhere, install it if you like

Public AAC is a web app: app.publicaac.org works in any modern browser with nothing to install. After the first visit it keeps working fully offline: boards, editing, and speech all live on the device.

Installing it as an app gives you an icon, full-screen use, and no browser chrome:

  • iPhone / iPad (Safari): tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
  • Android (Chrome): open the browser menu (⋮), then Add to home screen (or accept the install prompt).
  • Windows / Mac / Linux (Chrome or Edge): click the install icon at the right end of the address bar, or the browser menu → Install app.

Everything you set up (boards, voices, settings) stays on the device either way. Nothing requires an account.

Desktop app

A dedicated desktop app for Windows, Mac, and Linux (a lightweight wrapper around the same offline app) is in development. Downloads will appear here when the first builds are published; until then, installing from the browser as above gives you the same thing.
